Job Overview:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer provides leadership and direction to the mechanical design and assemble teams. This position drives reliability, continuity, throughput, and safety for internal mechanical design, assembly, and retrofits.
Highlights of your role:
- SUPERVISE AND MENTOR - Supervise and mentor the CEG Design team including Mechanical Engineers, Designers, and Technicians. Manager Workloads, assist in hiring/firing, training, rewarding, and disciplining. Provide direction as needed to Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance, and R&D groups for mechanical engineering, drafting, or design questions.

DEISGN/CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT - Research, design, test, build, and evaluate fixtures, tooling, processes, and product ideas. Guide machine designs with the facilities and project teams. Design and implement equipment and product improvements with improvement teams. Provide input on conceptual development of internal and external machine builds.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT - Assist in managing equipment builds and procurement. Develop and manage budgets and timelines for equipment and tools. Work with overall efficiency, productivity, production flow, equipment and product and quality, cost reduction, and safety.

RESEARCH/TROUBLESHOOT/FORWARD THINKING - Evaluate and seek new technologies in equipment, tooling, software, and components to improve machine reliability and design efficiently.

VENDOR LIASON - Assist in securing and vetting new vendors for components, equipment, tooling, materials, and material processing.

DOCUMENTATION - Own and drive documents standards for maintaining consistency during internal development, design, and retrofits including BOM, quotes, POs, schematics, and mechanical designs in Vault and/or VEG Folders. Drive documentation standards to other facilities and departments doing mechanical design. Develop and document processes for onboarding new design team members effectively and efficiently.
You're a good fit if you have (or if you can):
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in Engineering and 4-6 years of experience, or an Associate's Degree and 7-10 years of related experience.

Working knowledge of 2D and 3D modeling software (AutoCad and Inventor required)

Experience with Autodesk Vault preferred

Experience with Microsoft Office package including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook preferred

Sold Mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic mechanical principals.

Supervises 4-10 associates

Ability to travel as required
