The LeFrak Center at Lakeside is Brooklyn’s activity destination featuring year-round activities including ice skating, roller skating, bumper cars, dining, water play, biking, boating, family-friendly classes and special events.
This first-class family entertainment facility is comprised of 35,000 square feet of interior space and offices, two ice skating rinks which convert to a splash pad area and roller skating arena, biking and boating activities. With indoor and outdoor dining areas, café, bar and catering facilities, and designated event spaces and multipurpose rooms we are equipped to host a wide range of events including sports tournaments, clinics, special events, banquets, meetings, weddings, concerts, community events and other family friendly activities.
About the position:
We are seeking a skilled Handyman to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll oversee the care, maintenance, and repair of our facility, ensuring its smooth operation. Working closely with the executive management team, you'll also monitor and adjust facility systems as needed.
Candidates should have expertise in plumbing, carpentry, tiling, HVAC, electrical work, and relevant areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promptly address maintenance issues and repair requests.
- Procure necessary supplies for building upkeep and repairs.
- Assist external contractors with building repairs when required.
- Ensure the facility is maintained to the highest standards.
- Collaborate with the team to set up and break down spaces for events.
- Assist with the transition of the site for seasonal activities, which requires physical labor.
- Communicate all issues to the appropriate channels.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficiency in plumbing, carpentry, tiling, HVAC, and electrical work.
- Experience in facility or building management.
- Strong knowledge of building systems and operations.
- Highly skilled in plumbing, electrical, mechanics, tiling, and basic construction.
- Motivated, service-oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Clear communication skills with the management team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex operational matters regularly.
- Ability to work independently, manage various tasks, and meet critical deadlines consistently.
