Job description
The Childcare Program Center Director of the Licensed Childcare Programs directs the academic and nonacademic activities of licensed childcare programs. This leader has accountability and oversight and supervises the daily activities of the childcare service center. In this role, the leader would set the tone and model positive leadership behavior, while ensuring individual, teamwork tasks and projects, and communicating with parents, staff, and other agents. This leader is also responsible for completing successfully in support of departmental and organizational goals.

Classification: Exempt, full time
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000
Job details include but are not limited to
- Maintains Parent Communication board for parents
- Develop partnerships with businesses, communities, and other organizations to help meet identified educational needs and to provide school-to-work programs.
- Responsible for educational standards and goals, programs’ policies and procedures, budgets requests, and recommendations
- Develop strong relationships with other programs ensure that a continuum of care is available to children and their families
- Work collaboratively with others to problem solve, ensure ongoing communication, create linkages between services, and to create a supportive, professional, work environment.
- Establish and promote productive relationships with parents/guardians by attending parent/guardian meetings/workshops, family events, and encouraging families to participate in planned events.
- Creates a positive, engaging environment where the team experiences a sense of safety and belonging.
Qualification
- BA degree in Early Childhood or related field AND 15 ECE units (must include 12 core courses and 2 units in supervising adults), MA degree strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years experience managing licensed programs for children, youth, and families, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Teaching experience strongly desired.
- Program Director’s permit issued by the California Commission for Teacher Credentialing; Site Supervisor Permit accepted as well
- Must have or complete CPR and First Aid Training within the first 30 days of employment.
- Bi-lingual in English and Mandarin preferable
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strategy and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of requirements for Title 5 and Title 22 regulations; knowledge of NAEYC requirements a plus.
- CPR and First Aid Certificate and Infectious Disease Prevention-trained.
- Health screening, TB and fingerprint clearance (Department of Justice, FBI, Child Abuse Index) required before start date.
