We’re seeking a Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter to perform analysis, qualification, and premium determination of submitted business in accordance with carrier delegated contract authority complying with profit margins, ratios, and other criteria as mandated. Will be responsible for filing documentation of the highest professional standards.
The Access One80 team intakes submissions from every state from over 21,000 retail agencies via a class leading portal. This position will help our distribution partners place Excess and Surplus policies for a wide variety of classes.
A digital MGA, Access One80 focuses on commercial and personal lines on an E&S basis. We access leading carriers in the US and UK to offer online rating and quoting for dozens of lines of business. We offer in house binding authority and wholesale brokerage services across all lines of coverage.
Your Impact:
Analyze accounts received, determine best fit of business, rate/quote as may be appropriate (may delegate to underwriting or administrative assistance as needed)
Broker business falling outside carrier delegated underwriting authority determining the best program
Develop proposal illustration and binding requirements to selling agent
Establish payment options for delivery to agents with proposals
Considerate communication skills to assist agents with gathering required information for file review completion
Attention to diary items (additional information requested, quotes, return phone calls) assuring prompt delivery of proposals to agents in accordance with established standards
Secure binding confirmation from carriers, issuing binders and policies for contract underwriting carrier partners complying with specific company requirements
Assist with collections as may be required
Successful Candidates Will Have:
College degree preferred, or education commensurate with requirements
5+ years of commercial lines insurance underwriting experience
ISO Rating knowledge is required
Completion of designation program (CIC, CRM, ARM, CPCU or similar) is preferred
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be able to work independently with little direct supervision
Must be proficient with MS Office, including Word and Excel

At One80 Intermediaries, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive suite of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off and paid holidays for eligible employees. The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected base pay range for this position is between $64,800- $78,000 + bonus. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
