Position Description
This position is responsible for developing and driving the strategic direction and product development for the SelectBlinds brand across multiple categories and suppliers. The E-commerce Merchandiser will curate product collections based on data analysis and industry trends. This person will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure brand goals are achieved.
Position Responsibilities
- Attend trade shows, research competitor’s websites, and other inspiration platforms to stay current on emerging trends
- Assist the Merchandising and Product Development team in the assembly of all product inspiration materials (pin boards, print collateral, etc.)
- Conceptualize design ideas that meet SelectBlinds quality expectations and timeline expectations
- Post commitment letters & approval follow-up for all new products
- Communicate aesthetic approvals for items (i.e.: color, design aesthetic, trims, material)
- Develop product package ie, pricing requirements, features, and selling points
- Communicate with domestic and international vendors regarding all aspects of the development process
- Develop an understanding of global development lead times; use this knowledge to coordinate quicker turnaround times between concept and launch
- Own relationships with onboarding new suppliers and maintain existing vendor relationships
- Provide daily insight on category and product performance for the previous day
- Review margin goals and assist in good, better, and best strategies by making recommendations on pricing and product placement
- Perform and maintain competitive website analysis, keep abreast of market trends and eCommerce trends to support short and long-term strategies
- Monitor category-specific sales, traffic, and user trends to generate actionable assortment insights
Ideal Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Retail Merchandising, Supply Chain, or a related field
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with leaders and members in all functional areas
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and suppliers and ability to communicate across a variety of time zones
- Proven capabilities in executing strategy and problem-solving with a high level of accountability
- Ability to react/adapt quickly to directional changes
