Job Summary:
The Facilities Technician is responsible for the general maintenance and repair for Lafayette 148 Corporate office and NY Area offsite locations. They will be required for daily upkeep for the building and office space and will assist with internal office services and light office maintenance. In addition, the Facilities Technician will assist with the overall driving needs of Lafayette 148. A valid Driver’s License and clean driving record are required for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general repairs and maintenance throughout the day while observing all workplace safety regulations
- Move and handle furniture and miscellaneous office equipment
- Facilitate light shipping, receiving, and package deliveries as needed
- Perform offsite repairs, maintenance, and deliveries to miscellaneous vendors and retail locations
- Execute seasonal Facilities projects including but not limited to showroom/event set-up and office moves
- Oversee the ongoing maintenance of outdoor terrace landscaping
- Execute tasks requested via Facilities Ticket Request in a timely fashion
- Reconfigure, install, position, and remount modular offices and space (e.g. furniture, work surfaces, storage bins, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power, specialty tools, dollies, and hand trucks
- In partnership with Manager – Facilities and Retail Stores, liaise with landlord and building services to ensure that facilities are well maintained and reflective of our brand image
- Assist with light shipping, receiving, and package deliveries as needed
- Drive company van and other SUV’s in the NY area for deliveries, pick-ups and other tasks
- Assist with driving alterations and merchandise between the NYC-area stores, Brooklyn Army Terminal warehouse, NY offices and other off-site locations
- Supports offsite set ups as needed; including delivery of Visual Merchandising items and actual set up (rails/ tables/ mirrors)
- Address general showroom needs and execute on tasks for event set ups throughout the year
- Perform additional Facilities tasks as required and assigned
- Work flexible hours as required; may include weekends
Desired Background:
- Minimum High School diploma (or equivalent)
- Associate's degree or Trade School Certification preferred
Experience:
- 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Previous handyman experience in commercial environment preferred
Skills:
- General knowledge of maintenance and repairs in the following trades: electrical, carpentry, painting, and plumbing
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required; able to drive a sprinter van
- Ability to move/lift up to 100 pounds with appropriate moving instruments as needed
- Strong work ethic with solid interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective time management skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency on assignments
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational and follow-up skills
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Must be flexible to work hours outside of normal working hours
Base Pay Range
- The base pay range for this position is $16.00 - $ 20.00 per hour. Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, and location.
