Overview:
We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in their home and community settings.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration
- Support individuals in participating in social and recreational activities
- Implement individualized care plans and behavioral support plans
- Foster a safe and supportive environment for individuals under your care
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, such as nurses, to ensure holistic care
- Document individual progress and any incidents as required
Skills:
- Ability to drive individuals to appointments and activities
- Proficiency in lifting and transferring individuals safely
- Experience in patient care or direct support roles preferred
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices
- Comfort working with people with developmental disabilities
- Familiarity with home and community care services
- Background in hospice care is a plus
- Proficient in meal preparation for diverse dietary needs
