MARKETING OPERATIONS MANAGER
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages the research, development, planning, execution and evaluation of all promotions, events and entertainment at Rivers Casino – Des Plaines. Manages all aspects of promotions and events, from the beginning planning stages, to execution of all details for the ensurance of a successful event, through completion of the event and clean-up.
- Responsible for the introduction and development of gaming and non-gaming customers to Rivers Casino – Des Plaines via successful promotional and entertainment events.
- Responsible for helping to present ideas to expand the Rivers Casino – Des Plaines brand and consideration set beyond strictly gaming assets. Utilizes promotional and entertainment opportunities to support the Rivers Casino – Des Plaines brand.
- Adept at guerrilla and social marketing techniques, utilizes “non-traditional” marketing tools to generate buzz within the community and attendance at events.
- Guides and ensures proper implementation of all new entertainment and promotional strategies to ensure that they are successful while providing a high level of return on investment.
- Point person on property for all events, entertainment and promotions. This includes coordination with all vendors and on-property personnel prior to the event, day-of the event and during the event.
- Coordinates promotions and events with different departments on property and outside vendors.
- Ensures timely and appropriate communication of notices to all employees and any other notifications of all marketing events, promotions and entertainment. Organizes strategies and tactics to elevate entertainment and events throughout property.
- Coordinates property communications strategy and tactics, including, but not limited to: promotional rules, property scripts, property communication books, PBX scripts, public relations monthly documents and events procedures. Works closely with staff on coordination for production, promotions, events, public relations and entertainment.
- Takes all steps necessary to ensure the financial and reputational success of promotions, entertainment and special events.
- Ensures event and promotion projects are meeting established timelines and come in within budget.
- Ensures projects are meeting established timelines and on-budget.
- Issues new and replacement players club cards to patrons.
- Issues complementaries to the casino outlets and redeems marketing vouchers based on tracked play and internal comping guidelines. (No redemption for cash, only merchandise).
- Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Casino Marketing in their absence.
- Perform the duties and responsibilities associated with the Illinois Gaming Board Statewide Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program as described in Section A of the Rivers Casino – Des Plaines ICS.
- Ensure patron satisfaction at all times at Rush Rewards.*
- Issue player rewards and complementaries (comps) to patrons.*
- Handle patron complaints in a concerned, helpful and professional manner.
- Assist patrons in all aspects of Rush Rewards.*
- Print reports for review and verification when necessary.*
- Maintain working knowledge of his/her department.*
- Authorized to approve and/or make adjustments to a patron’s account balance.*
- Activate and/or deactivate a patron’s account.*
QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES):
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Marketing, or Hospitality.
- Minimum of 4 years of Management experience and 3 years of marketing experience, preferably in the hospitality or gaming industry or a combination of education and experience.
- Ability to communicate, build relationships, and achieve buy-in with all levels of the organization.
- Must be detailed oriented with excellent organization and critical thinking skills
- Ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality
- Best-in-class verbal and written communication skills, customer service skills, and listening skills
- Proficient computer skills, including all Microsoft applications
- Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays
- Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.
- Must possess strong time management and prioritization skills
- Must possess strong leadership and planning skills, demonstrating the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to work in a high pressure, fast-paced environment.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Frequent walking.
- Bend, stretch, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
