Sonoran Spine is fast growing, upbeat Orthopedic Practice. Sonoran Spine believes in treating the entire person and not just the symptoms. That's why our multidisciplinary approach to managing pain includes medical care, advanced intervention spine and joint procedures, physical therapy, and psychological services. You will be responsible for performing routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly. Our goal is to provide exceptional patient care and satisfaction.
Role and Responsibilities
· Ensure all diagnostic, test results, imaging and patient information is ready for physician
· Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician
· Explain treatment procedures, medications, and physicians' instructions to patients
· Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat, clean and stocked
· Maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
· Authorize drug refills as directed and provide prescription information to pharmacies
· Perform general office duties such as answering patient calls, completing prior authorizations, and scheduling/rescheduling/ canceling appointment
· Cover for all medical assistants as needed during his/her absence
· Prep injections to send to surgery centers and provider.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· High school diploma is required
· MUST BE a registered or certified medical assistant to apply
· Preferred experience in pain management
Preferred Skills
· Thorough knowledge of medical office practice and pain management procedures
· Knowledge of medications being distributed by a physician
· Knowledge of various Computer software; including EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
· Knowledge of HIPAA/OSHA compliance
· Appropriate biohazard materials disposal
· Good verbal and written communication
· Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
· Ability to problem solve and work independently
· Thorough knowledge of medical terminology
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Able to stand 4 hours or more
· Able to twist, stoop, kneel, and lift
· Able to lift up to 20 pounds
· Able to sit and work consecutively using appropriate body mechanics
· Multiple Office Traveling: Ability to discuss possibility of splitting locations with other teammates to eliminate travel time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
