POSITION TITLE: Shipping Coordinator
POSITION REPORTS TO: Shipping Manager
DEPARTMENT: Production & Logistics

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Shipping Coordinator will assist with coordination and managing truckload scheduled pickups. Will oversee outbound packages for transportation and assist in making sure all items are inspected, shipped, and processed on time while complying with company policy. Primarily will ensure all scheduled shipments are available and loaded on time and within budget. The shipping coordinator monitors and oversee outgoing shipping activities to verify items are shipping to the correct location and in good condition.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate and oversee shipping services to ensure that orders are filled correctly

Communicating with shippers to provide rates, managing large quantities of packages, and assisting with various routing tasks

Confirm and ensure weights are correctly posted, that correct charges are applied, and that shipments are moved from shipping points to storage areas, and also resolve issues with shipping orders

Keep record of products shipped from the company
- Reviewing orders and processing order changes, returns/cancellations, and printing of shipping labels

Determining the most efficient methods of shipping and routes for courier services

Scheduling loads and processing shipping paperwork

Inspect loading operations to make sure that they comply with shipping specifications to ensure correctness and the proper use of warehouse space.

Manage Shipping Orders and Invoices by reading all shipping notices, orders, invoices, and other documents to manage priorities and ensure that the correct shipping methods are used. They also make sure shipping records are accurately stored in the database.

Run and send out end of day report to leadership

In charge of compiling a list of unfulfilled orders for future reference

Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position has no direct reports.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Computer competency - must be computer savvy
-
Proficiency with industry-standard computer packages such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook

Customer-oriented mindset and excellent interpersonal skills

Communication skills both written and verbal
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-
Proven experience of at least 2+ years of concrete and verifiable knowledge of shipping and/or logistics procedures

A minimum of high school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management preferred but not required

Must have direct shipping day-to-day experience performing routing, processing, and closing sales orders after pickup of shipments, maintaining safe and clean dock shipping area

Must be willing and able to work as part of a team

Possess good organizational and coordinating abilities

Must be able to multi-task and place priorities in an orderly manner

Must be an individual that pays keen attention to even the smallest of details

Must have good judgement and decision-making abilities

Must possess time management skills

Possess good conflict resolution skills
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear

Must have a valid driver's license

Ability to operate a computer keyboard

Ability to read a variety of materials

Ability to sit for extended periods of time

Ability to carry 5-10 lbs. (computer, etc.)
