Piner's Nursing & Assisted Living Home is seeking an experienced Full-Time Cook (32 hour) for our 2nd cooking shift from10:30am-7:00pm to join our dedicated kitchen staff!
Here at Piner's we are looking for dynamic individuals who are team players and hard workers. Individuals who have a desire to make life worth living for our Elders by having creative individuals who have a passion to cook and love to help others by preparing amazingly delicious food that brings joy and nourishment to those we serve.
As a cook, you will prep and prepare batch style food for a large group with specialized diets. You will cook, you'll be responsible for the presentation and garnish of meals from our professional kitchen with the dietary manager, dietician and dietary aides in serving our Elders.
The Dietary Aide will assist you the cook with prepping food, presentation, making sure the specialized diets are correct for each individual, cleaning & dishes.
You must also be able to interview and communicate in English!

Cook Responsibilities:
- Prepare all served food
- Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours
- Memorize, record, and comprehend menu items, abbreviations, plate appearance, and portions
- Follow standard recipes and special diet orders
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
- Clean, wash and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in cooking, culinary arts, or other related fields
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
- Knowledge of special diets and batch cooking
- Strong attention to detail and creating food that pass anyone's visual and taste test
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well in teams
