POSITION SUMMARY:
The Shipping and Receiving Materials Handler is a self-starter and a team player. The handler manages incoming and outgoing orders, supports production and customer service, and is consistent in delivering quality work for the materials department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with domestic and international shipping & receiving goods/materials and checking in merchandise.
- Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area.
- Tracking and coordinating the receipt of goods and materials, ensuring proper handling and storage requirements.
- Operate a forklift and pallet jack as needed.
- Maintain quality service by complying with internal and external policies and procedures.
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Perform warehouse inventory controls and counts to ensure accuracy.
- Contribute to department and company goals by consistently achieving the organization’s needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing warehouse.
- Computer savvy, proficiency in Microsoft Office, data entry software, preferably use of ERP software such as Pentagon.
- Knowledge of import/export laws and customs highly desired.
- Ability to stand for 8-hour shifts and lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Reliable and Punctual
- Attention to detail to ensure the safety of self and others.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
