Position Summary
Under the direction of the Administrator, the Admissions Director markets facility services in the immediate and surrounding referral communities for the purpose of census development and public relations. Is responsible for coordinating all admissions and transfers to the facility. Works closely with the nursing staff and social services relating to psych/service needs of prospective residents. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.
Job Description
- Prepares strategic marketing plan in accordance with census expectations with assistance from the Administrator
- Makes necessary arrangements to carry out marketing plan
- Keeps files on all primary and secondary referral source
- Conducts community speaking engagements and arranges community speaker for facility
- Maintains logs and/or reports of all inquiries, tours, admissions, discharges, marketing plans and contacts. Submits required logs and/reports to the Administrator
- Demonstrates knowledge skills and techniques necessary in carrying out the admissions process for residents with the following needs; therapeutic, neuro & dementia, dialysis, IV therapy and infectious diseases if applicable.
- Demonstrates knowledge of age specific development factors specific to adult and geriatric residents in the admissions process
- Attends all mandatory in-services by the employee’s anniversary date
- Demonstrates ability to adjust to changes in unit/shift assignments to meet resident and family needs
- Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program when performing work functions

Qualifications
- Minimal of an Associate Degree in Business, but Bachelors’ Degree preferred or equivalent work experience in a healthcare environment.
- Previous health care community relations experience preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, as Admissions Dirextor responsibilities may dictate.
- Able to establish and maintain working relationships with multiple and varied people and organizations.
- Effective presentation skills and strong organizational skills.
- Must have the ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with other employees at all levels.
- Knowledge or ability to learn reimbursement program from payer sources.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and time management skills.

- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
