Reporting to the Executive Director Medical Group Operations and Quality Assurance, oversees the on-going delivery of care for assigned practice sites. Collaborates with Medical Group (MG) Practice Managers and Site Supervisors to establish, monitor and improve operational measures and processes related to staffing, training productivity, compliance, quality, accuracy, patient care and customer satisfaction. Collaborates with the Executive Director and other MG and NCH department resources to streamline operations, implement consistent processes, facilitate exceptional patient care, and to meet the operational and financial goals of the NCH Medical Group.

1. Oversees all aspects of the delivery of care throughout assigned MG sites working in conjunction with Site Management Staff. Ensure appropriate service level standards and goals are implemented and maintained and that processes, policies, procedures and systems are implemented to support required staffing levels, productivity, quality, compliance, patient safety, privacy and satisfaction. Works with Site Management Staff to ensure that all site staff is oriented to the medical group and hospital, including safety and infection control policies and procedures and assures that learning needs are identified and addressed. Confers with Clinical Informatics, Marketing, IT, Executive Director, and other ancillary departments to enhance operations and competitive advantage at all medical group sites.
2. Directs assigned medical group sites financial performance by developing objectives/plans and implementing operational efficiencies to achieve budget. Monitors on-going financial performance analyzing operational metrics, statistics, and support system information to identify variances and trends in patient volumes, costs and customer service. Formulates corrective action plans with appropriate staff to optimize site success. Consults with Executive Director, Physicians and Site Management Staff to develop annual operating and capital budgets.
3. Provides guidance to Practice Managers and Site Supervisors to facilitate attainment of physician site goals and needs. Facilitates cooperative working relationships between site staff, Physicians and all other departments within Northwest Community Healthcare. Supports Site Management in the identification and resolution of customer service issues through the use of appropriate communication techniques and operational enhancements that support a professional service oriented atmosphere and customer focused improvements. Ensures compliance with all with state and federal regulations and standards applicable to the operation of medical group sites. Maintains a safe environment for patients, staff, and others by ensuring adherence to medical group standards for patient safety, infection control and a safe work environment.
4. In collaboration with Executive Director, develops goals and leads operational, quality and patient focused initiatives ensuring inter-facility collaboration and compatibility with medical group and hospital objectives. Assists in strategic planning for the Medical Group and related services and supports program and business development as appropriate. Contributes to physician, practice site, and operations standardization efforts and develops and implements tactical plans to enhance productivity, efficiency, access, quality and patient satisfaction. Works in conjunction with Executive Director to onboard new physicians and practices.
5. Regularly evaluates the performance of Management Site Staff according to the guidelines of the hospital's performance management system. Recruits for MG Management positions and provides leadership, inspiration, training support and supervision.
6. Adheres to all Northwest Community Healthcare standards, policies and procedures.
Qualifications - External
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or equivalent experience. Masters Degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years progressively responsible management level experience overseeing operations in an ambulatory healthcare setting required.
3. Valid Illinois driver’s license.
4. The interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively and persuasively with physicians, patients/families, staff, vendors, and all other medical group and hospital personnel.
5 The analytical skills necessary to develop a budget and site area goals, evaluate services and workflow, analyze data, identify process improvement opportunities, write effective project plans/proposals and to develop process changes, policies, procedures.
6 The communication skills necessary to convey information clearly and concisely to resolve customer issues and to foster and implement change management with team members and physicians in a positive manner.
7 The facilitation skills to work with various operations support resources with diverse needs and interests to develop and improve services that meet the needs of patients, physicians, payers and the organization.
8 The ability to work in a high stress environment and complete multiple projects and initiatives with numerous interruptions on time.
