Make a difference in the life of a child! F/T Home Visiting Parent Educator will provide ongoing parenting education and support for low-income pregnant women and families with children 0-6. Position reports to the CHIP Team Supervisor and collaborates with CHIP Home Visiting RNs to provide comprehensive service delivery to families on caseload.
Essential Functions:
- Initiate and maintain regular and long-term contact with assigned families.
- Provide direct services to prenatal and postnatal women and families in the family’s home to assist parents in strengthening the parent-child relationship.
- Responsible for developmental evaluation of all children in the home.
- Deliver one on one and group parent education using Parent’s as Teachers curriculum.
- Provide family-centered, strength based interventions as required.
- Maintain case management documentation and required updated reports on families served.
- Provide transportation to necessary appointments.
Education/Experience:
- BA/BS in related field required. Minimum of 1 year work experience in field preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of and expertise in providing home-based services.
- In-depth knowledge of child development.
- Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
- Current driver’s license and willingness to use own mode of transportation.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to establish and maintain programmatic boundaries while being flexible and supportive of families.
- Parent’s as Teachers (PAT) Certification a plus.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
