Our client is a young, 150-head public accounting firm based in Manhattan. They have a broad client base, but they are particularly successful within family office, art galleries, real estate, and consumer products.
The are currently seeking an energetic, self-motivated Senior Tax Manager who is eager to embrace the challenge of leading and building upon a successful team.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as the primary client contact and liaison; communicate effectively with clients and develop positive relationships with client personnel.
- Conduct top-level reviews of returns, workpapers, and issues.
- Supervise, train, and mentor tax staff; support the growth and development of team members.
- Stay current on industry laws and regulations.
- Provide consulting on technical matters and special projects in various areas of corporate, flow-through, and individual taxation.
- Research various tax matters and make recommendations to clients for consideration.
- Demonstrate thorough technical knowledge of accounting standards.
- Identify tax risk management issues and propose potential solutions through research and collaboration.
- Manage multiple assignments within an engagement.
- Communicate with partners on work status and client issues that arise.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in tax or accounting.
- Minimum of 10 years of tax consulting/compliance experience in public accounting.
- At least 2 years in a managerial role involving clients and team members.
- Advanced understanding of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Ability to fully manage client relationships on behalf of the firm.
- Ability to work independently, as well as in collaboration with others.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of applicable accounting software, with a preference for CCH Axcess & Engagement.
