Job Title: Shop Manager
Department: Maintenance
Supervisor: Project Manager
Summary
The primary duties of this position are managing the shop. This position will supervise 2-5 shop employees to include the mechanical and electrical department. This position will ensure equipment is repaired and maintenance performed in a timely manner and ensure equipment is field ready. This position will maintain our fleet of equipment while also assisting with the production and maintenance of our fleet of Submersible Dredging Robots.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
· Keep shop employees on task, prioritize projects, and advise shop employees as needed
· Communicate with management of needs and/or challenges
· Keep management informed of shop progress/operations
· Keep inventory of shop supplies, tools & parts
· Order parts or inform management when stock is low
· Anticipate when new equipment should be fabricated/built/repaired
· Lead daily morning meetings with shop staff and delegate tasks
· Lead shop staff throughout the day and keep them on track to ensure projects are finished in a timely manner
· Follow up/give feedback to shop staff regarding their performance and effort. Hold employees accountable.
· Identify problem areas or target areas for improvement
· Responsible for scheduling and tracking equipment repair. Communicate with manufacturer regarding repairs and warranty claims
· Maintain a clean and organized work area
· Track company vehicles for maintenance, CMV and DOT inspections
Qualifications
· Education - High school diploma or GED required.
· Experience – 3 to 5 years of management in a shop environment supervising at least 3 employees
Additional Beneficial Skills & Experience includes:
· Diesel 6" trash pump repairs and maintenance
· Diesel generators repairs and maintenance
· Submersible dredging robot repairs and maintenance
· Assistance with the production and assembly of submersible dredging robots
· Light duty trucks and cars repairs and maintenance
· Small engine repairs and maintenance
· Trailer repairs and maintenance
· BJM submersible Water pump repairs and maintenance
· Assistance with facility repairs and maintenance
· Assistance loading and stocking trailers
· Assist field teams to diagnose and fix mechanical issues
· Ability to travel to assist field teams and make repairs in the field when needed
· Work safely in a busy, fast-paced environment
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid-Current Driver's License, You will be required to submit for random drug testing.
Travel
This position may travel up to 10% of the time.
Supervisory
This position will manage 2-5 shop employees.
· Computer Skills – Basic computer proficiency with and flexibility in learning computer software programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows. Google Drive, Google Calendar and Gmail
