Job Summary
The Periodontist works collaboratively with team members to ensure their patient receives a full periodontic evaluation. Utilizes data collected such as patient concerns, health history and prior dental experiences, existing restorations, periodontal health, X-Rays, digital scans and intra-oral photographs as a minimum to chart a course of treatment. Performs cosmetic surgical procedures and assesses and treats gum disease and sensitivity. Plans for and performs surgical placement of implants from single tooth to full arch supported prosthetics. Maintains a long-term view of the patient’s progress and shares responsibility with the team for patient satisfaction and a high degree of customer service.
Responsibilities
- Perform complete, detailed, and accurate health histories, review patient records, develop comprehensive oral health assessments, and complete radiological and diagnostic studies including updated X-rays, scans, and intraoral photographs.
- Prioritizes a comprehensive approach to oral health while addressing chief concerns
- Presents findings to patients and builds long-term care relationships built upon mutual understanding and trust.
- Collaborates with other dental specialties/generalists to address tooth decay, loss of function or malocclusion to coordinate periodontic services within the overall scope of comprehensive oral health
- Performs surgical and nonsurgical treatments to cure or arrest periodontal disease.
- Formulates and performs corrective therapies such as frenectomies, osseous surgery, scaling and root planning, perio maintenance, sinus lifts and routine prophies.
- Performs extractions, bone and tissue grafts and places surgical endosteal, healing and crown abutments, provisional and final prosthetics.
- Represent our group by providing outreach and education with local referrals and study clubs.

Qualifications
- Excellent communicator with staff, patients, and family
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Active VA Dental license in good standing
- AED, CPR Qualified
- Able to multi-task and work independently and as a team
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $92,433.46 - $300,000.00 per year
