Fleetwood is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic II to work on our day shift in the Furniture division! This full-time position works Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with overtime on Friday's during our busy season in the summer (June through August).

General Purpose:
Perform mechanical breakdown and preventative maintenance (PM) activities, including the inspection, repair, and revision of plant/facility machinery and manufacturing equipment. Enhance and improve machine utilization to ensure process repeatability and uptime and reduce changeover and set-up times. Perform breakdown maintenance by troubleshooting, repairing, and documenting. Partner with management, engineering, and vendors regarding new machinery/equipment selection, specifications, set-up, and operator training. Acts in a lead capacity and provides direction to other employees.
Essential Functions:
· Actively participate in and contribute to machine and process design and improvements.
· Adhere to all corporate and department safety guidelines and procedures. Attend and may conduct safety training classes to keep current.
· Aid in the design, assembly, and/or fabrication of all types of equipment and special machines.
· Contribute to plant layout to facilitate the move, relocation, and installation of plant machinery and manufacturing equipment.
· Document repairs, set-ups, maintenance, PM, and safety procedures to ensure equipment reliability and quality control and improve the overall operation of equipment.
· Gain familiarity with machine control systems, including air logic, relay logic, Computerized Numerical Control (CNC), and Programmable Logic Control (PLC).
· Inspect, adjust, program, and repair machinery/mechanisms and equipment according to work assigned.
· Responsible for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic work on equipment.
· Ensure the working area, tools, and equipment are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
· Perform the installation of, make alterations to, and rebuild plant machinery and manufacturing equipment.
· Recommend and take part in systems and machine modifications with Management and Engineering.
· Understand and recommend spare parts inventory to provide equipment reliability.
· Operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
· Work with Engineering, Production, and Quality to ensure effective and timely machine changeovers and set-ups.
· Support Production during peak season with willingness to work overtime and flexible schedules.
· Performs other duties as requested.
Licenses or Certifications Required:
· A high school diploma or equivalent education.
· A U.S. Department of Labor Journeyman’s Card in the mechanical repair field or equivalent experience preferred.
· Experience with manual welding and operation of machine tools (mill, lathe, etc.) beneficial.
· Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
· A valid driver’s license.
· The ability to obtain a forklift, aerial platform, or other equipment operator’s license.
Skills and Abilities:
· Requires expert understanding with measuring equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
· Must be able to read, understand, and apply mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
· Must have knowledge of and ability to apply technical procedures and practices.
· Ability to achieve deadlines and completion dates with minimal supervision.
· Must be detail-oriented to ensure accuracy in all work (from project planning through execution).
· Must be able and willing to train peers and other technical roles in mechanical maintenance concepts and procedures.
· Requires a team player with the ability to understand Fleetwood values, goals, and objectives as well as financial drivers.
· Must be self-motivated and able to manage own workload.
· Good listening, writing, and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters to non-technical audiences.
· Must be a shop floor-focused problem solver.
· Must be customer-focused (both to internal and external customers).

Pay: $27.20 - $35.36 per hour
