Quality Engineer
Permanent/Direct Hire Position
$55,000 to $65,000/year
Monday through Friday
Normal Business Hours
SUMMARY
The Quality Engineer will provide quality assurance support to the product development team, resolving bugs, defects, and other potential issues and ensuring that products meet customer specifications.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Reviews design plans, process procedures, test procedures, and quality manuals to understand the scope, requirements, and function of products.
2. Ensures products meet the organizations and customers’ quality and product integrity requirements.
3. Supports product development or operations team by providing analysis and expertise throughout the inspection process.
4. Identifies root causes of problems in the production process; recommends and/or implements corrective measures.
5. Analyzes data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, related discipline, or CQE
2. Knowledge of industrial processes
3. Knowledge of military specifications: ASME, SAE, & FAR
4. Knowledge of FDA requirements for medical devices
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
7. Extensive knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s production processes.
8. Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to serve as a liaison with developers, project managers, and customer support.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 10. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must provide proof of an annual eye examination and a onetime Ishihara Test (Color Blindness Test) from an accredited eye care professional.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for an office and manufacturing environment. Work may require local travel. Work may require evening and weekend work.
