POSITION SUMMARY
The Master Scheduler prepares the overall planning and implementation of a district-wide master scheduling process. The incumbent defines the district’s parameters for local school schedules and maintains communication and support with school sites regarding the master scheduling process. The master scheduler ensures proper planning and preparation for the scheduling process and aligns school preparation with district expectations and priorities. The incumbent defines district parameters and plans with school sites around key information, including enrollment projections, allocation of Full Time Equivalents (FTEs), curriculum alignment, and strategic initiatives.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Master’s degree in Education or related field required.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
- Georgia professional certification at PL7, S7, Level 5 or higher in a teaching or service field and/or in Educational Leadership, or out-of-state equivalent, preferred.
WORK EXPEREINCE:
- 3 years experience as a secondary campus master scheduler.
- Experience with training adults.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Ability to identify and correct errors in schedules and documentation.
- Knowledge of a student information system.
- Knowledge of quality control standards and practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Develops and maintains master scheduling timeline for campuses.
- Develops and maintains end-of-year scheduling conversion timelines.
- Monitors the development of all campus master schedules.
- Collaborates with school and district leaders to ensure master schedules align and support strategic initiatives to improve student outcomes.
- Meets with content coordinators to monitor application, acceptance, and scheduling processes related to the campus master schedule.
- Provide ongoing training to all campus Student Information Coordinators (SICs) on topics such as course numbers, proxies, singletons, doubletons, and the use and interpretation of available reports and seats.
- Assists the district in ensuring high school SIC are meeting the educational expectations of the District but are also efficient in terms of staffing, class size, and the assignments of instructors.
- Performs routine reviews and checks to ensure all schools follow the district's established guidelines.
- Evaluate and recommend improvement in the purpose, design, and implementation of the instructional program and other support programs related to the district’s and school's mission.
- Required to have prompt, regular attendance in person and be available to work on-site, in person during regular business hours, and as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative.
