Well-established Japanese corporation has a new technology center, focusing on developing advanced nano-materials and applications. Laboratory Assistant is needed for the new facility.

- part-time (up to 40 hours per week) with a prospect of becoming full-time.

Job Description
Work environment is of a laboratory-workshop type. The assistant will work as a part of the R&D team. The role includes, but is not limited to, preparing and testing samples, assisting with experiments, operating devices and laboratory equipment, checking inventory and writing reports. All necessary training related to proper usage of lab equipment will be conducted on the worksite. The job is part-time with a prospect of becoming a full-time position.
Qualifications and experience
- Strong sense of responsibility and good work ethic
- Attention to details and patience working with small samples
- Good Verbal and written communication skills
- Highly motivated and capable of working independently as well as in a group
- Willing to learn fast and work effectively
- Willing to work in multi-cultural environment
- Able to use hand tools and small power tools
- Able to handle chemicals
- MS Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Worked in cleanroom environments
- Worked with quality control
- Worked with dispersion processes
- Hands-on experience with some of the following: sewing, knitting, crocheting, jewelry or other hand crafts
- Vision: Eyesight correctable to 20/20
- Coordination: Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination for handling delicate samples
- Capable to lift light loads: 20 pounds of force occasionally or up to 10 pounds of force frequently
- Working in standing positions for several hours
