Process Controls Engineer (Hybrid)
Expert Technical Solutions has an immediate opening for a Solutions Engineer specializing in integrating diverse industrial systems and protocols within a manufacturing environment. This position is with one of our premier clients in Atlanta, GA. This is a full-time, permanent position with hybrid work schedule – 3 days/wk in the office and 2 days/wk work from home.
Overview:
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with technologies such as Kepware, OPC-UA, MQTT, MODBUS, HighByte, OSI PI, among others. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust integration solutions to enhance our manufacturing processes. Additionally, the candidate will provide solutions architecture for connecting manufacturing data systems to ensure seamless communication and data exchange across the organization.
Responsibilities:
· Integration Solutions: Design, develop, and implement integration solutions to connect various systems and devices within the manufacturing environment.
· Configuration and Troubleshooting: Configure and troubleshoot platforms and protocols including HighByte, Kepware, OPC-UA, MQTT, MODBUS, and OSI PI.
· Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define integration strategies.
· Maintenance: Perform system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
· Automation: Develop custom scripts or applications to enhance automation and data exchange between systems.
· Support and Training: Provide technical support and training to end-users and stakeholders as needed.
· Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in industrial automation and integration.
Required Skills: We are open to candidates with 3-7 years of experience (mid-level) or candidates with 1-2 years of experience (junior-level).
· At least 1-2 years’ proven experience in industrial integration, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
· Minimum 1-2 years proficiency (preferably more) with any (not all are required) of the following: Process Control Systems, PLC’s, Kepware, OPC-UA, MQTT, MODBUS, or other relevant technologies.
· Strong understanding of industrial protocols, data models, and communication standards.
· Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and database systems (e.g., MSSQL, MySQL).
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
· Experience with AWS services such as API Gateway, EC2, EKS, Lambda, and S3 integrations.
· Familiarity with cloud-based architectures and best practices for scalable and resilient systems.
· Certifications in AWS or relevant cloud platforms.
· Data Historians such as OSI Pi, Ignition, or other time series databases
