```Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Freight Broker to join our dynamic team. As a Freight Broker, you will play a critical role in managing the full lifecycle of freight shipments, from sourcing new customers to planning and scheduling pickups and deliveries, as well as covering existing shipments. This is a cradle-to-grave position, ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is driven to exceed targets.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Acquisition: Proactively source and secure new customers by identifying potential clients, conducting cold calls, networking, and leveraging industry contacts.
- Shipment Management: Plan, schedule, and coordinate the pickup and delivery of freight shipments to ensure timely and efficient transportation.
- Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing exceptional service and addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
- Carrier Coordination: Identify, negotiate, and secure carriers for freight transportation, ensuring competitive rates and reliable service.
- Documentation: Prepare and manage all necessary documentation for shipments, including bills of lading, shipping orders, and invoices.
- Market Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and regulations to provide clients with the best shipping solutions.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise during the transportation process, such as delays, damages, or discrepancies.
- Performance Metrics: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the efficiency and profitability of freight operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Freight Broker or in a similar role within the freight industry.
- Strong understanding of transportation logistics, including carrier operations and freight documentation.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and carriers.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in using transportation management software (TMS) and other relevant technology.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
