The Controller at Kristen Distributing Company plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial operations. This position involves managing personnel and processes that produce full scale financials (Budget/Actual/Forecast) and KPI’s daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually. Further, the ability to present the month/quarter/annual financial statements to the company’s top management and applicable outside parties is required. The ideal candidate will have strong process awareness, analytical, and communication skills. A CPA or progress towards a CPA is preferred.
Your essential duties will include:

Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.

Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate processing.

Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support business decisions and strategic planning.

Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with the preparation of tax returns and audits.

Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and support during interim and year-end audits.

Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support the company’s financial planning.

Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Either possess CPA certification or be actively working towards CPA certification

Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.

The ability to manage processes designed to fully comply with US GAAP accounting standards.

Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, and underlying Sub-ledger systems) and advanced Excel skills.
