Position Summary: The Certified Nursing /Medical Assistant (CNA) is an essential team member in our free community health center. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing/Medical Assistant to join our team. Work schedule; Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 8:00am to 5:00pm. Must be fluent in Spanish
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Participates in patient centered care, performs clinical and clerical tasks that support practitioners and clinic operations.
● Maintains clinic documentation within the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software and Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), as well as other administrative requirements including monthly reports, copying, filing, faxing, and answering phones.
● Maintains accurate and complete paperwork for the Patient Assistance Program (PAP) for pharmaceutical assistance.
● Checking patient vital signs and keeping precise records in patient charts.
● Follow up with patients regarding medications.
● Performs vitals, obtains EKG, nebulizers etc.
● Welcomes and greets clients/visitors to the clinic in a manner that is helpful and friendly; determines the purpose of visit and provides intake for appropriate service(s).
● Maintains active CPR certification, compliance with company core values, HIPAA regulations, computer security, and Florida Patient’s Bill of Rights
● Attends scheduled department staff and clinical meetings.
● Performs other duties as may be required.
Qualification:
● Completion of high school diploma or equivalent
● State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification
● 1-2 years experience in family practice or clinic setting.
● Prior clerical experience in clinical or community-based setting preferred.
● You are passionate about helping others.

● Must have the ability to exercise a high degree of diplomacy and tact; excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills; Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated the ability to work with diverse people groups.
● Must be highly flexible; able to accommodate changing needs of the team.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
● Knowledge and effective implementation of basic office procedures.
● Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision.
● Intermediate computer knowledge and skills, particularly Microsoft products and preferably EMR systems.
Supervision:
This position reports to and falls under the general supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. The Certified Nursing / Medical Assistant is expected to use and is given considerable latitude for discretion, independent judgment and self-directed time management in planning and executing work to achieve the most effective results.
Physical Requirements:
This is a clinic and an office environment which requires the ability to walk, stand, bend and to reach. Able to lift and carry (up to 20lbs), and perform fine motor movements. Position requires visual acuity for reviewing, checking, preparing and maintaining written and electronic files. The employee is required to have sufficient hearing to perceive information at normal and spoken word levels accurately.

● Must pass a drug screening for consideration.
● Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office and other required computer programs.
● Must be able to operate a variety of standard office machines, including but not limited to computers, copier, scanner, telephones, fax, shredding machine, etc.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
