ZefSci, a wholly owned subsidiary of Shimadzu Scientific, Inc. a global manufacturer of analytical equipment, is seeking an experienced and motivated Financial & Accounting Manager to supervise and manage our accounting and finance departments and help drive our financial success.
Job Summary:
As the Financial & Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for the accounting and finance operations of the company. This includes maintaining & managing an adequate accounting system records, managing financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of financial principles, and the ability to drive results.
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance and accounting department.
Oversee finance operations control systems, transactions and policies/procedures.
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Maintain, manage and document accounting system’s policies and procedures.
Manage and monitor cash flow, budget and forecast.
Ensure Payroll entries and bank reconciliations are completed timely and correctly.
Support Month-end, Quarter-end, Half Year-end and Year-end close process.
Liaison with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained
Assist in J-Sox compliance under the guidance and instruction of Shimadzu Corporation in Japan
Monitor and approve customer Credit applications.
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal government reporting requirements, as well as tax fillings.
Maintain and file business licensed in various states.
Compilation of financial data of Subsidiaries with parent company.
Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial professionals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree highly preferred.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation required.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
Knowledge of J-SOX compliance requirements
Experience of reporting to a foreign parent company financial is a plus. Experience with Japanese company is highly preferred.
Japanese speaking and writing is highly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
