Job Description
The Front Desk Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for all of our patients upon entering the clinic. They are responsible for greeting patients, checking them in and out of appointments, scheduling, answering the phone line, collecting payment or insurance information, and verifying patient information.
This position is primarily based at our Downtown Clinic, located at: 326 N Mills Ave but, we are looking for someone available to travel. Travel needs include all five of our offices (addresses are available on our website: www.cfpulmonary.com).
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Greet patients.
- Check in/out patients for appointments.
- Schedule follow-up appointments.
- Manage high call volume; transfer calls to appropriate extensions.
- Ensure proper payment is maintained on patient's account.
- Perform cashier duties, posting payments, printing out receipts.
- Handle patient complaints.
- Address patient concerns in a timely manner.
- Maintain a professional demeanor at all times with patients and medical staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Fundamental understanding of personal computers and familiarity with the Windows operating system
- Minimum of 1 year of front desk experience
Knowledge and Training
- Advanced technical skills in medical office software, Greenway Prime Suite a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of multi-line phone systems
- Well organized and detail oriented
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Problem solving, time management, and stress management skills
