We're seeking an experienced Early Childhood Teacher to take up the role of an educator, mentor and caretaker at our centre for young children. Our teachers are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of students while creating a positive learning environment through their hard work and dedication. The ideal candidate will have a background in teaching children, alongside an extensive understanding of child development and schooling methodology.
Responsibilities:
- Observe and monitor students' behavior and responsiveness.
- Establish and enforce firm rules for students to follow.
- Use a variety of teaching techniques to address individual learning styles and needs.
- Demonstrate proper techniques for interacting with children, including handling disruptive behavior and responding to injuries.
- Understand and implement laws and regulations related to the health and safety of young children.
- Act as a role model to students and their families.
- Gather and document student's information.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education Required, minimum of CDA
- First aid/CPR certificate
- At least 3-5 years’ experience working in an early childhood setting with at least 1-2 years of head teacher experience
- Experience working with persons from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds. Must be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the children and the program
- Exemplary written and spoken communication skills
- Strong collaboration skills; able to work well with a team
- Effective multitasker; can prioritize tasks based on importance and deadlines
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Lifting and carrying children
- Close contact with children
- Direct supervision of children
- Diaper changing
- Assisting children with toileting and hand washing
- Ability to interact with children on the floor
OTHER
- Assist with fundraising events as needed
- Spearhead or assist on special projects as may be assigned
