The primary responsibility of the Facilities Technician is to provide ongoing support and assistance to other department staff, for the purpose of maintaining the cleanliness and effective operations of the facility. The support duties include, but are not limited to, monitoring the grounds; picking up trash; maintaining, organizing, and completing the daily upkeep of the shop; moving furniture; and entering and completing service tickets. In addition, this position will support other teams/departments as needed. The schedule for this position is 7:00am - 4:00pm Monday - Friday.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages the appearance and cleanliness of all common areas to include the lobby, all entrances/exits, courtyards, swimming areas, parking lot, and hallways.
- Participates in the maintenance and preventive maintenance for all facilities, under supervision of the Facilities Technician II or higher.
- Makes basic repairs and coordinates the work of specialists when more complex repairs are needed.
- Schedules maintenance or repairs to minimize disruptions to organizational operations wherever possible.
- Picks up all trash, debris, cigarette butts, and other items in any/all common areas.
- Maintains, evaluates, and reports any/all non-conforming building or maintenance issues.
- Participates in any/all safety training program(s) for the Facility/Maintenance team.
- Creates and adheres to department and building budgets.
- Works with selected vendors on approved service contracts involved in building maintenance, security, and construction projects.
- Provides exceptional service and support to staff and members.
- Provides coverage and support, rotating the on-call schedule and/or working non-regular shifts, as required.
