Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business (Marketing or related experience) required. Master's (preferred)
- 20-30% travel to headquarters for meetings
- 8+ years of experience in sales strategy, planning, and execution within the CPG industry, beverage sector (preferred)
Job Responsibility:
The Director of Sales Strategy and Planning is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive sales strategies that align with the organization's goals. They analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and devise plans to capitalize on them. They work closely with sales managers, sales reps, and other stakeholders to ensure that the sales plan is aligned with the business objectives and customer needs.
Essential Duties:
Market Trend Analysis:
- Analyze data and monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and consumer behavior to identify growth opportunities and potential risks.
- Inform sales forecasts and budgeting based on historical performance and market conditions.
- Provide actionable insights to inform sales strategies and decision-making.
Sales Strategy Development:
- Develop comprehensive sales strategies aligned with business goals, considering different channels and customer segments.
- Make recommendations on go-to-market plans, pricing strategies, and promotional initiatives.
Sales Planning:
- Contribute to the annual and quarterly sales planning process.
- Collaborate with sales teams to set targets and performance metrics.
- Ensure alignment with overall company objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the sales team to build appropriate strategies and execute effectively.
- Collaborate with finance to track performance and manage to internal financial objectives.
- Partner with marketing to align messaging, initiatives/campaigns, and product launches.
- Coordinate with operations to ensure supply chain efficiency and inventory management.
Performance Measurement and Reporting:
- Establish KPIs and performance benchmarks for sales teams.
- Regularly assess performance against targets and adjust strategies as needed.
- Prepare dashboards, reports, and presentations for senior leadership.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- 8+ years working with leading industry data sources (SPINS, Circana, Nielsen, RichMix, Kantar, Numerator, Custom Research)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across functions.
- Strong organizational skills and accustomed to working with a wide variety of stakeholders cross-functionally. Strong ability to influence decision-makers using facts
- 3+ years in category management a plus
- Internal P&L and/or budgeting experience a plus
- Experience in CPG sales or sales operations a plus

- Pay Range: $130,000 to $140,000, bonus eligible
