Summary and Ideal Candidate Profile
This position is for a Quality Assurance Test Automation Engineer within an Agile team, focusing on credit relationship configuration management for firms establishing trading accounts and monitoring credit/debit limits. The role involves collaborating with developers to define, execute, and automate test cases, primarily for applications being migrated from on-premises to GCP and GKE. The team manages various applications for different markets, and this role will support ongoing projects including the migration to cloud infrastructure and feature development.
What You Will Be Accountable For
- Collaborate with developers in an Agile team to define, execute, and automate test cases.
- Utilize Oracle Database SQL for database-related testing.
- Test containerized applications deployed in Kubernetes/GKE, preferably within the GCP environment.
- Test applications based on Java backend processing services and JavaScript frontend.
- Operate within UNIX/Linux environments for various testing activities.
- Implement and manage continuous integration/deployment processes using tools such as XLR, Bitbucket/Stash, Argo Workflows, Jenkins.
- Use collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence to manage and document testing processes.
- Apply knowledge of trading and capital markets to relevant testing scenarios.
- Leverage familiarity with deployment mechanisms like Kafka messaging, Rest API calls.
- Perform testing tasks independently, ensuring quality and efficiency in the testing process.
- Attend all Agile ceremonies and support other deployments as needed
What Qualifications You Need
- Demonstrable experience of working in an Agile team as a QA/SET, collaborating with developers on test case definition, execution, and automation.
- Proficient in Oracle Database SQL.
- Experience testing containerized applications in Kubernetes/GKE, ideally in GCP.
- Experience with Java backend processing services and JavaScript frontend.
- Solid working knowledge of UNIX/Linux.
- Experience using continuous integration/deployment tools such as XLR, Bitbucket/Stash, Argo Workflows, Jenkins.
- Experience using collaboration tools JIRA, Confluence.
- Knowledge of trading and capital markets.
- Strong ability to learn new technologies and applications quickly.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a complex business domain.
Preferred
- Familiarity with Kafka messaging and Rest API calls.
- Experience with functional regression tests and CI/integration testing.
- Exposure to Kubernetes/GKE/AWS/containerized environments.
- Familiarity with deployment mechanisms like XLR, Argo.
- Experience with similar migration projects.
- Background in Asset Management, banking, settlement domains.
