A busy couple is seeking a Nanny/Family Assistant is expected to help around the home, take care of the children’s well-being, provide day-to-day general support to the family, and assist with light administrative duties.
The Nanny/Family Assistant will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks, including personal errands, shopping and supplies, light vendor/ property management, home organization, light tidying, ensuring the kids are safe and looked after, and pet care. They will also need to drive the children to and from school or activities as needed and care for the children when the parents are traveling.
The Nanny/Family Assistant will be expected to be flexible with their list of duties and assist around the house as needed or requested. Ideal candidates will have experience working with children and be trustworthy, adaptable, energetic, positive, and naturally helpful.
Location: Chicago, IL
Hours: Monday – Friday; 11:00am-7:00pm; 40 hours per week with flexibility
Salary: Starting at $30-35 per hour DOE

The Team: A housekeeper; Family office team
General Responsibilities
· Helping with the day-to-day requests of the family as needed
· Ensuring the children’s safety and wellbeing
· Picking up the children from school/ transporting them to/from activities after school – using the family’s car
· Overseeing the children while they are at activities, or home from school
· Caring for and overseeing the children when parents are traveling (likely 3-4 times a year for up to a week each time; duties include getting children to and from school, ensuring they are well-fed, taking them to activities, etc.)
· Working with housekeeper to ensure the home is kept tidy and organized
· Personal shopping and errand running for the family; coordinating miscellaneous errands and appointments (e.g., dry cleaning runs, presents for children’s friends etc.)
· Assisting with the family dog – to include, vet trips, grooming appointment, & walks
· Checking in or dog sitting when the family is away
· Managing the family email issuing correspondence on the family’s behalf (e.g., corresponding with teachers, tutors etc.)
· Liaising with the school on the family’s behalf as needed, and reporting anything relevant to the parents once home
· Efficient family calendar planning week to week; ensuring family are aware of all appointments and are fully prepared and liaising with the EA to ensure cohesiveness (e.g. plays, sport games, doctor’s appointments, PTA meetings. Contractor/vendor appointments, etc.)
· Assisting with projects and research as required, e.g. summer camps, activities etc.
· Ensuring property is clean, and very well maintained at all time; checking that all equipment is in working order, undertaking walk throughs as necessary and keeping the household fully stocked with necessary supplies at all times
· Handling all seasonal and annual property maintenance requirements, including putting up and taking down seasonal décor.
· Ensuring summer home in Wisconsin is well kept before arrival. Traveling ahead of family to assist with set up of the property – grocery shopping, supplies, ensuring everything is in working order etc.
· Housesitting as needed when the family is away
· Serving as a point‐of‐contact for all emergencies and urgent questions
· Managing petty cash and keeping a record of any household expenses
· Assisting with paying approved bills if asked
· Managing/ assisting all 3rd party provider accounts, ensuring punctual payments
Requirements
· A clean valid Driver’s License, with own car to travel to and from work; comfortable driving the children or principals if required
· Legally able to work within the United States
· Minimum 3 years in a similar role
· Ideal if proficient with Google suite, and Microsoft suite (e.g., Excel)
· Must be happy to work with dogs
· Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
