Overview: Driver and Warehouse Worker
Responsible for transporting vehicles to/from Vandoit facilities, vendor appointments, and picking up customers from hotels and the airport. Also transports products, materials, parts and hardware as needed along with performing various warehouse jobs.
Job Responsibilities:
Primary - Driver
- Transports clients and/or packages to and from different destinations.
- Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather delays before driving to a destination.
- Uses GPS navigation applications to determine the best routes to and from destinations.
- Interacts with customers and vendors professionally at all times.
- Ensures that the vehicle is fueled and ready for transport.
- Makes known when vehicles are in need of service or repairs and/or in need of detailing.
- Maneuver large vans around in tight spaces.
- Loads and unloads vehicles with products, tires, wheels, etc.
Secondary - Warehouse
· Assists as a warehouse worker during times when driving assignments are low.
- Assist shipping and receiving, unloading trucks and checking in merchandise.
- Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to organizational standards.
- Open bales, crates, and other containers.
- Maintain inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing requests, recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed through a computer. May also assist in counting of physical inventory.
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; Sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
Qualification requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1-2 yrs previous warehouse experience preferred.
- Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and welcoming manner is a must.
- Good communication, organizational, time management mathematical skills.
- Dependable and reliable.
- Inventory, equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills may be required.
- Forklift experience (certified preferred)
- Driver's license with a good driving record and must have full coverage auto insurance.
Physical demands and abilities
- Regularly required to use hands to handle, feel, and reach.
- Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
