Flatbush Development Corporation is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Assistant Program Director. The assistant Program Director is a key position in managing the after-school program, school-age enrichment programs. With the guidance of the Program Director they provide program support and supervision. The position deals with all program operations including daily program implementation, lesson development, and administrative tasks and being a role model to counselors/staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Be a consistent role model for staff and maintain a standard of high energy and morale within the programming.
- Provide training, leadership, and guidance for counselors.
- Be knowledgeable in all aspects of the job, provide operational support for all program logistics including scheduling, space coordination, payroll, supply ordering, tracking, and budgeting.
- Provide administrative organization of all student files and program documents including DOH/DOE binders and staff files.
- Track and upload attendance onto DYCD connect
- Provide a high level of customer service and interaction to parents and families.
- Build relationships with school personnel.
- Maintain the organization of all storage areas and equipment inventories.
- Enforce all safety and program regulations.
- Promote program spirit and values.
Secondary Responsibilities: * Assist Program Director in organizing program activities, enhancements, and program schedule
- Assist Program Director in organizing family programming
- Provide assistance or coverage for staff within the groups they are assigned to.
- Attend a minimum of 30 hours of program and safety training and 18 hours of leadership and supervision training.
Education/Qualification:
- Minimum two years’ work experience with children and supervising youth programs.
- High school graduate with a minimum of 2 years of college coursework desired. B.A preferable
- Experience working with elementary or middle school students in a school-based or community-based setting.
- Familiarity with DOH and DYCD regulations a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
- Proficiency in DYCD Connect preferred
