About the role
Reporting to the Shipping Manager, the Shipping Associate’s primary goal is to pull inventory for
open orders, create labels, update inventory, and assistant in handling incoming and outgoing
freight. This person aids in palletizing from start to finish; helps with UPS, FedEx, and USPS orders
as needed, and perform other warehouse tasks as assigned.
What you'll do
- Prepare product shipments for postal or commercial transport by determining most
economical and efficient shipping method and selecting appropriate shipping container to
ensure safe delivery.
- Securely stage, pack and wrap outgoing pallets by hand specific to distributor or client
parameters.
- Prepare bills of lading by checking items to be shipped against work orders to determine
that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
- Receive and unload incoming materials accurately utilizing BOLs, packing slips (physical
and digital), etc.
- Inspect shipments for damages or defects and promptly record and report issues to
supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
- Deliver items to areas within the company and obtain authorized signatures for accepted
items if needed.
- Trace lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiate proof of delivery
documents.
- Accurately maintain inventory control and records of orders and invoices
- Communicate with clients and provide information using customer service skills
- Maintain careful shipping and cost log
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School Diploma
- Experience with freight and logistics equipment/platforms preferred
- Must be exceptionally organized, self-motivated, deadline-driven and have a great attitude!
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment where priorities change somewhat
regularly
- Availability Friday-Sunday 9AM-9PM
and occasional weekend shifts as needed
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Ability to lift and move 50 lbs.+ without issue, multiple times daily
- Experience using a forklift is preferred
