INTRODUCTION
This Regional Foodservice Manager works in a hybrid capacity – working remotely and from the warehouse of Hickory Nut Gap Meats (HNG Meats) in Flat Rock, North Carolina.
The Regional Foodservice Sales Manager coordinates collaboration among departments to manage current accounts and new regional business including foodservice, institutional, and ingredient accounts. Includes Asheville, NC current business and regional business within the southeast. The role requires regular travel within the southeast region.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage relationships with regional direct customers and broad line distributors
- Create leads for inventory sales management
- Offer excellent customer service and customer retention
- Confirm purchase orders for all existing and new customers
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and respond to incoming wholesale emails.
- Manage all broad liner foodservice distributor accounts including forecasting, sales, PO confirmations, and customer reviews.
- Manager all direct foodservice, institutional and ingredient accounts including forecasting, sales, purchase order confirmations, and key account reviews.
- Balance inventory through sales made by networking and creating leads in the marketplace.
- Use ERP system to enter all sales orders for assigned customers.
- Coordinate with Operations team to ensure effective production planning.
- Collaborate with finance team on purchase order pricing confirmation, promotional planning, sales offerings and more.
- Collaborate with Marketing to assess needs and support customers.
- Track customer communication through tools given by management.
- Lead inter-departmental collaboration for assigned new customer onboarding needs.
- Provide customer insights to internal team to inform pricing and other business decisions.
- Assist accounting team with receivables collections and reporting as needed.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Head of Sales.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
- 3-5 years sales experience in foodservice and perishables foods.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of Food Distribution.
- Knowledge of ERP software a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively as a team member.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good at juggling multiple tasks and prioritizing tasks; ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
