About the Job:
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who’s creative gears are constantly turning out new ideas and concepts, and takes pride in bringing a product from conception to completion. This designer is a friendly problem-solver with a strong desire to learn and grow, and to help the rest of their team do the same. They also have the ability to work collaborative and effectively with non-creatives in other departments, or even directly with our buyers, in order to produce the best plans and designs as possible within any given limitations.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to take a package from concept to production
- Work closely/cross-functionally & effectively with our Sales, Sourcing, and Ecommerce departments, as well as with other creatives within the department
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with our overseas offices and suppliers for all necessary packaging development & improvement.
- Create marketing collateral such as retail packing concepts, in-store displays, planogram renders, online sales assets, etc.
- Manage multiple projects at once with tight time management skills
- Develop original designs and packaging concepts within brand parameters
- Maintain awareness of current trends in technology and home decor
- Maintain accuracy and status of all projects in a PLM/Project Management Software
Required Skills:
- 2-3+ years of experience in package design is a must.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience working with the latest Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Ability to work through problems and find solutions; possess a keen eye for details, and a knack for organization.
- Easily adaptable to new situations and willingness to jump headfirst into unfamiliar roles and projects.
- Excellent project management & follow-through, ability to handle multiple projects at once and last minute projects as needed.
- Ability to communicate your thoughts and ideas in a clear and focused manner.
- Informed on the latest trends in packaging and consumer design
- Well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Photography/photo composition, retouching skills, and video editing skills are a major plus
