I am looking for a responsible, self-starter who can learn and grow with our company to add to our leadership team. As such, you must have an HS diploma and two years of full-time work at a single job site to be considered. A college education is a huge plus, a BA is better than an associate degree. A trade with consistent performance is just as good. However, there is also physical work involved in the job. So, education and stamina are both prerequisites, as well as not panicking or being overwhelmed by a group of dogs.
The ideal candidate for this full-time, permanent dog caretaker position would help with dog care, work weekends and occasional evenings, take an occasional evening shift driving dogs from the Hudson Valley to New York City, be able to step in with our customer service ticketing system from time to time, and learn our proprietary software system for keeping customers in touch with their dogs when they are traveling. Photography and messaging to keep customers happy is important.
A proven team player could rapidly progress, with a substantial annual salary. Our salaried leaders also work one day remotely per week from home, a change in scheduling that emerges as we find a team member is career-oriented, reliable, and effective.
Our current team is fairly established and substantial, allowing for some scheduling flexibility. However, weekend and some holiday work would be important. We have more flexibility on holidays, but weekend work, in addition to some other times, is critical.
We are a growing company, adding grooming services and our own line of premium food for dogs produced at another local site in the last year. We have built an excellent, unique software system that is more involved than most smaller businesses would build from scratch and own. We have 401K retirement matching, PTO, bonuses, high hourly wages, and high salaries for team leaders.
This job has some aspects of physical work, dog group management, and involves some technical tasks. Some of the time the ideal candidate would be working with animals, other times with co-workers, customers, and a computer. The drive to the city is one afternoon/evening/night a week from time to time, depending on need and to relieve coworkers as needed. Driving involves substantial tips.
We deal with dogs in groups. We use a few apps and programs. Someone is outside some of the day every day.
