Overview
The Assistant Facilities Engineer will learn and master maintenance and operational tasks under the guidance of the Senior Facilities Engineer. This role involves performing daily cleaning tasks, conducting regular inspections, and assisting with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other operational tasks.

Roles, Responsibilities, and Priorities
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
+ PERFORM DAILY CLEANING TASKS, INCLUDING TRASH PICKUP, EMPTYING TRASH CANS, AND CLEANING EXTERIOR AREAS OF THE BUILDING.
+ CONDUCT REGULAR INSPECTIONS OF FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT, IDENTIFYING AND ADDRESSING MAINTENANCE NEEDS PROMPTLY.
+ ASSIST WITH HVAC MAINTENANCE TASKS, SUCH AS MONITORING TEMPERATURES, FLUSHING DRAIN LINES, AND REPLACING FILTERS.
+ SUPPORT PLUMBING AND ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE EFFORTS BY INSPECTING PIPING, CLEANING DRAIN LINES, AND ADDRESSING ISSUES AS NEEDED.
+ MONITOR AND MAINTAIN COOLING TOWERS, PUMPS, BOILERS, AND OTHER BUILDING SYSTEMS.
+ CONTROL LITTER, ANTS, AND WEEDS IN DESIGNATED AREAS AROUND THE BUILDING.
+ MAINTAIN DOORS, CLOSERS, ACCESS SYSTEMS, SECURITY SYSTEMS, AND FURNITURE.
+ PERFORM ELEVATOR MAINTENANCE TASKS AND ENSURE PROPER FUNCTIONING.
+ MONITOR TEMPERATURE, HUMIDITY, AND EQUIPMENT IN THE COMPUTER ROOM.
+ ASSIST WITH UPS MAINTENANCE AND GARAGE GATE UPKEEP.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications preferred.
- Previous experience in maintenance or facility management roles preferred.
- HVAC certification or training highly desirable.
- Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical systems, and building automation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical fitness for performing manual labor tasks.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
