We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team as an Admissions Nurse. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating patient admissions and ensuring a smooth transition into our healthcare facility.
An admissions nurse is the first point of contact between a patient and a hospital. Their primary duties include pre-admission screening to provide a complete medical assessment. They collect the patient’s medical history and ensure that all necessary forms and insurance obligations are completed1. Admissions nurses play a crucial role in transitioning patients to hospital visits, preparing them for their stay, and addressing any anxiety related to the hospital visit.
RN Admissions Nurse Duties:
- Conduct patient assessments upon admission
- Collaborate with healthcare team to develop individualized care plans
- Communicate with patients and families to provide necessary information and support
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient records
- Coordinate admissions process efficiently
Requirements:
- Valid RN license
- Experience in medical records management
- Familiarity with Epic software preferred
- Knowledge of ambulatory surgery center procedures
- Understanding of various medical conditions and treatments including aliment, primary care, and hospital medicine
- Experience working with children in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in specimen collection processing
- Familiarity with sterile processing techniques
- Ability to perform procedures like spinal taps
