We are looking for an entry level (or experienced) Farmstead Equipment Technician, to train on the job, as part of a two-person crew. Trainee will assist in performing maintenance/repair and installation of feeding, ventilation, and manure equipment on farms. Previous work experience on farmsteads is a plus, but not necessary. Applicants should have a good mechanical ability with an eagerness to learn on the job.
Responsibilities
- Service and repair of feeding, ventilation and manure equipment
- Installation of feeding, ventilation and manure equipment.
- Working as part of a two-person crew effectively & safely.
- Developing a knowledge of our equipment lines & how to troubleshoot breakdowns.
- Need own set of hand tools. Power & specialty tools will be provided.
Skills
- Proven experience as maintenance technician
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
- Ability to work safely in farm environments
- High school diploma or equivalent; building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus
- Ability to safely and effectively use common hand and power tools
