JOB SUMMARY:
TheInside Sales Representative – Flooring Design Center (Houston, TX) is a critical role for the company. This position is currently a part-time position. This person is responsible for contributing to the overall sales growth of the business unit. This is accomplished by guiding residential and commercial consumers / decision makers through their flooring selection process. Also, in collaboration with the outside sales team, developing and pursuing new customer targets to ultimately grow / expand our customer base and sales.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain an attractive and organized flooring showroom.
- Guide consumers and specifiers through residential and commercial flooring selections.
- Work with commercial team to develop quotes, track and close large projects.
- Collaborate closely with outside sales representatives to: Develop, share and collectively pursue new customer target lists and leads, and out-call to qualify customer leads, teach those prospects on the EJW value proposition and ultimately, set up face-to-face meetings for the outside salespeople
- Develop and maintain a calendar of showroom appointments.
- Use effective customer follow-up strategies.
- Maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
- Input, edit, and process orders in a timely manner.
- Provide customers with an accurate bid / quote including all products they have selected.
- Follow up and inform customers of shipping date, anticipated delays and any additional information required by the customer.
- Navigate our internal computer system to look up customer and product information.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Company’s flooring products and promotions.
- Maintain knowledge of and adhere to processes, policies and procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Interior design and flooring experience a must.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- High school diploma.
- At least 1 year of general office work experience.
- Ability to perform simple mathematic functions (calculate percentages, discounts, etc).
- Must be proficient in the use of computers, copiers, fax machines, software, and other office equipment.
- Must have excellent telephone technique, including ability to communicate with confidence with a clear, professional speaking voice.
- Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
- Must be detail-oriented, well organized and ability to multi task and prioritize in a high-volume environment.
- Must be able to work independently or in a team environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Office environment. Expected to spend 50% of time on the telephone.
