Job Title: Mat Service Representative
SUMMARY
Plymate Service representatives provide professional, courteous service to Plymate customers on a regular basis through route delivery. They work closely with both internal and external customers to make sure the correct products are delivered and billed accurately. They are essential in building and maintaining customer relationships. They address all customer concerns in an appropriate timeframe while communicating openly with their direct supervisor and others within the organization, to continuously improve.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Plymate service representative delivers product within their assigned route, to up to fifty customers each day, while following company policies, coordinating all service activities, and working to achieve long-range goals and objectives. These goals and objectives include, customer retention, increasing sales within existing accounts, customer relations and contract renewals. They are the first point of contact in resolving service-related issues and in ensuring customer retention standards are met with future growth in mind.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires the ability to safely operate a box truck, a clean driving record and criminal history, the ability to obtain and maintain a chauffeur’s license for hire endorsement and D.O.T. certification, as well as the ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 lbs. or more consistently throughout the day, unassisted.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Prior customer service experience is a must. Prior sales and service experience in a business-to-business environment is helpful, as is prior route experience. Some successful college course completion desired.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret simple financial reports. Ability to effectively present information to customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply simple mathematical concepts.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems. collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
PC proficient, Microsoft Word and Outlook proficient. The ability to learn and become proficient in our windows-based software, Alliant. The ability to learn and become proficient using a handheld device.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS LICENSE
A Chauffeur’s license endorsement, an acceptable driving record (as determined by our vehicle insurance carrier), and adherence to our company motor vehicle policy for drivers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to drive a truck and deliver products, while adapting to different customer environments. Ability to sit, stand and walk continuously throughout the day. Ability to climb, twist, bend, stoop, reach above shoulder level and operate a motor vehicle continuously throughout the day. Ability to lift to 50 pounds continuously (up to 100% of the time) throughout the day and up to 100 pounds frequently (up to 5 hours) throughout the day unassisted. Ability to push and pull (carts) up to 300 pounds with both hands frequently (up to 5 hours) throughout the day.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to manufacturing areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as steel toed safety shoes, hard hats, safety goggles, etc., is required. For the most part temperatures are like outdoor temperatures. Lighting and noise level like traditional manufacturing environment.
