Responsibilities:
- Working as part of a team to ensure that all tasks are completed in order of priority, and in the allotted time frame
- Ensuring that and all staff have a safe and pleasant work environment at all times
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies and prep
- Ensuring that all food that they produce is equal to or above the minimum set standards
- Ensuring astute portion control, wastage control and adhering to par levels in their department
- Maintaining superior personal hygiene practice at all times
- Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate food orders
- Supervise food prep and cooking
- Check food plating and temperature
- Assist in menu special in collaboration with the Culinary Operations Manager and Kitchen Manager
- Train kitchen staff on prep work
- Keep uniform food plating techniques
- Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators)
- Assist with all proper Inventory
- Ensure all plates are properly cooked and served and our guests have a memorable experience at Dos Olivos Market.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills
- Has an attitude of continuous improvement; contributes new ways to create efficiencies or work more effectively either individually or as a team member
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to support in leading a team
- Communicates any food or people related issues to the Kitchen Manager or General Manager in a timely manner
- Has a positive, professional attitude, always on time, and focused on the job they need to do
- Open to constructive feedback to help improve and learn new skills
- Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
- Organizational skill, as well as a problem-solving skill
- Abilities in conflict management
- Ability to manage in a fast pace environment
- Flexibility in work schedule(evenings, weekends, etc.)
- Food Service management certification
- 3 years cooking experience (preferred)
