The Shipping and Receiving Lead is responsible for coordinating and executing shipping and receiving activities for food and food contact commodities. This position ensures the proper handling of materials, adherence to safety procedures, and provides accurate, timely shipments to customers. This position will also maintain the plant’s inventory tracking and management to ensure the integrity of inventory balances (raw materials, supplies, and finished goods).
MUST-HAVES:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Full professional proficiency in English, bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports.
- Ability to safely and efficiently operate a forklift.
- Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must display a positive attitude and work well with all levels of internal and external customers, whether individually or in a team environment.
- Must be able to manage time by organizing and planning work effectively.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle the stress of deadlines and constantly changing priorities.
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

WORK CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
- Frequently (more than 75% of the time) required to sit and walk, use ladders and climb stairs, bend and stoop, reach, push/pull, kneel, and crouch. Lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds without assistance; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls to communicate verbally and to hear. Specific vision abilities this job requires include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

- Frequently (over 75% of the time) exposed to dust and loud noise.
- Frequently (over 75% of the time) exposed to machinery and mechanical moving parts.
- Personal protective equipment is required, such as hearing protection, safety glasses, hair net, and food safety-related items.
