Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Marketing, Advertising Operations & Audience Development Manager. This includes identifying and pursuing sales opportunities, managing customer relationships, and analyzing market trends. While this is a work from home position, the ideal candidate will be based in Washington, DC, Los Angeles or Colorado.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of advertising sales or media campaign management a must, please do not apply without this qualification unless you work in the Space industry.
- Sales and Marketing skills
- Experience in developing and executing marketing strategies
- Proven track record in generating sales and achieving targets
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients
- Analytical and strategic thinking
- Proficiency in CRM software and marketing tools
- Knowledge of the space industry is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred
Responsibilities
- Marketing Campaign Creation: Plan and execute annual marketing campaigns for both SpaceNews audience development and advertising sales needs.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary contact for clients once the sales team closes a sale. The sales team will transition to a supporting role (CC).
- Creative Asset Management: Collect creative assets on time and in full, and load into CRM.
- Ad Campaign Fulfillment and reporting: Manage the fulfillment and produce ad campaign reports and communicate with clients pre-launch, during, and post-campaign as needed.
- Sales Collaboration: Flag potential new opportunities to the sales team based on campaign performance and audience insights. Be open to taking on accounts yourself and becoming lead sales rep as you learn the business.
- Partnership Management: Manage barter partnerships with industry key events.
- Audience Development: Track reader habits to identify and cultivate target groups.
- Event Management: Manage the SpaceNews presence at global events and oversee the year-end SpaceNews ICON Awards held in Washington, D.C..
- Team Collaboration: Initially will report to the President and will work daily with the sales team and tech teams.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in developing and executing successful marketing strategies

- Analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
- Proficiency in CRM software and various marketing tools
- In-depth knowledge of the space industry is a significant advantage
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field required
