The California State University, Dominguez Hills Toro Auxiliary Partners (CSUDH TAP) is a non-profit organization and was incorporated in 1968 as a partner of California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) to provide supplemental services that enhance core academic programs that are an integral part of the University's educational mission. Position Summary:
The major duties and responsibilities of the Program Specialist include working as a member of the CISE Instructional Team and supporting the execution of instructional programs and events. The specialist is responsible for assisting the director with managing teacher professional development activities, supervising student assistants, preparing data reports, and implementing the micro-credential program. The role will require collaboration with the Fab Lab Project team, teachers, and school and district personnel. The candidate must have a flexible work schedule and be willing to work on Saturdays and some evenings.
This position is full-time, benefited, and non-exempt.
Hourly rate: $20.00 - $23.00 Depending on Experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support STEAM Programs and Events by scheduling student assistants, submit Event Requests, request parking codes, request catering, and secure meeting rooms.
- Create, format, and design flyers, reports, slide decks, and workbooks.
- Coordinate visits, events, and activities for the instructional team.
- Work with the Director of STEM Education to recruit, schedule, and enroll teachers in micro-credential courses.
- Oversee and manage surveys for Tech 4 Every 1 and Teacher Micro-credentials.
- Track quotes, P.O.s, and invoices for micro-credentials and training.
- Create reports for schools which include managing data and creating tables and graphs as needed.
- Set up Google Folders for instructional team, including Evaluation Forms, Teaching Calendars, Planning Documents, Staff Break Schedules, and Pre/Post Test Score Spreadsheets.
- Support the instructional team by organizing the Google Folders for administration, including maintaining payroll, placement, and attendance databases on Google Drive.
- Oversee schedules for and supervise student assistants.
- Coordinate and plan meetings by communicating with personnel and partnering schools.
- Plan various professional development and training activities that may include Fabrication Technology.
- Travel occasionally to support the implementation of our STEM programs.
- Support walkthroughs for off-site programming.
- Support staff, teachers, and students with technology issues, connectivity components, and rebooting/ configuring technology.
- Assist with Wifi issues, know how to deal with firewalls, and install required device certificates for all features to work properly.
- Assist I.T. with checking out equipment to staff and partners, accurately filling out forms, and following up with staff and partners when it is time to return equipment; ensure equipment is still working properly and all items have been returned.
- Keep storage/ containers organized and keep inventory up to date.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Fluent in the following programs: Google Suites, Microsoft Office, and their related applications.
- Comfortable with communicating with partners and staff, including teachers, principals, administrators, parents, and students.
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field/experience.
- A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation are required to arrive at the worksite at the scheduled time when meeting in person.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment as needed.
- At least 1 year of administrative work
