The Valley Veterinary Center of Buckingham and Holicong is searching for a friendly, patient, and motivated team player. Veterinary technician license required for this position, with references; No Exceptions.
We are a full-service small animal veterinary hospital in Buckingham, PA, located in central Bucks County. We provide progressive, quality veterinary care for companion animals in two intimate and friendly settings. We offer a fully computerized record system, complete in-house blood work capabilities, advanced surgical and anesthetic monitoring equipment, digital X-Rays and ultrasound capabilities, cryosurgery, and laser therapy. We have a team of five veterinarians and a friendly, high quality support team.
Our two-location practice requires working closely with other team members. Our technicians regularly help answer incoming phone calls and friendly client service is a must. Required technical experience: venipuncture, injections, IV catheter placement, dental cleanings, radiology, animal restraint/exam room assisting, surgical preparation/assistance, anesthesia/monitoring, obtaining a doppler BP, and processing in-house laboratory specimens.
As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a critical role in providing skilled medical care and support to animals within our veterinary hospital. Your technical expertise, compassion for animals, and collaboration with the veterinary team will contribute to delivering high-quality healthcare services.

- Technical skills to operate and maintain laboratory equipment, radiography machines, and other medical tools.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting veterinarians in medical procedures, including surgical assistance, dental cleanings, and diagnostic imaging.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
- Conducting laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and microbiology, interpreting results accurately.
- Monitoring anesthesia during surgeries and recovery, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
- Educating pet owners on basic care, post-operative care, medication administration, treatment instructions, and preventive health measures.
- Maintaining and updating patient medical records, documenting treatments, and observations.
- Operating and maintaining medical equipment, including radiology machines, ultrasound, and anesthesia systems.
- Assisting in the management of hospitalized patients, ensuring their comfort, hygiene, and well-being.
- Collaborating with veterinary assistants, receptionists, and other team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Participating in continuing education to stay updated on veterinary medical advancements and best practices.
- Assisting in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the treatment area, common areas, exam rooms, kennels, and bathrooms.
- Assisting in other areas of the hospital (reception and veterinary assistant) as hospital needs dictate.
- Taking the lead on weekly technical tasks as needed.
