The Resident Care Assistant is responsible for providing assistance to residents with activities of daily living, medication management, and other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. The Resident Care Assistant will work closely with the nursing staff to ensure that residents receive the highest quality of care.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding
- Assist with housekeeping and laundry tasks
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and report any concerns to the nursing staff
- Assist with recreational activities and social events
- Document care provided in the resident's medical record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to read and write English
- Must be able to work rotating weekends
- Experience working with seniors preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
The Resident Care Assistant will work in a long-term care facility and may be exposed to infectious diseases, unpleasant odors, and challenging behaviors from residents. The position may require working weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
